I wouldn't bother with The Jane Austen Book Club -- it has moments of being mildly entertaining, but I found it very irritating overall and only finished it because I'd started it and I was damned if I was going to let it beat me. Nothing much happens, I didn't find the characters believable (I don't know anybody who's like this), the point of view seesaws wildly and confusingly, and the writing is smug, complacent and frequently dull. When I'd finished it, I found myself thinking "right, and why did you write this?"
